[Project Concept|Research Directions|Testbeds]
We have divided the proposed research into eight
topic areas. Section 1 contains the overview of our
design paradigm for multi-agent hybrid systems, section 2 describes the approaches to the design of hybrid
control systems, and section 3 contains the approaches and
software environments for verification of hybrid systems. Section 4 contains a description of the program on wide area
sensing, hierarchical vision and cellular neural network
implementations of low level vision, and section 5 discusses biological neural network models for data compression in a
hierarchy. Section 6 discusses our approaches for
designing intelligent (single) agents for complex, uncertain and changing
environments. We emphasize that these designs are also manifest
characteristics of hierarchical sensory motor control. Section 7 is the program of research in learning
and adaptation at all levels. The use of soft computing tools for
designing intelligent interfaces for intelligence augmentation of
human centered systems is discussed in Section 8.
