Macports Information

  • Install packages in /opt/local/etc
  • Config file /opt/local/etc/macports/macports.conf
    • Useful to change build_arch in macports.conf to x86_64
  • Note that upgrading the OS requires all packages built with Macports to be rebuilt

Useful Commands

  • port uninstall inactive This command uninstalls ports that are no longer used
